[Unit Price] Documentation
Summary
What is the feature?
Merchants selling in France and Germany are required to show unit prices for certain types of products to be compliant with the law. Ex: €9.99 / 100g

Why is it needed?
Today, Shopify merchants in France and Germany are not compliant with this law. Unit prices make it easy for buyers to compare prices.
Who is it for?
Merchants selling in categories and products which can be measured by weight, volume and area.
What
At release, this will not be a mandatory theme requirement. We expect to make this a requirement later in the year once we finish updating themes for the new online store design experience. Themes that have a substantial German or French merchant base will benefit from voluntarily making this change.
Update every page where the product’s price is displayed.
- output the new unit price liquid objects in collection page, product page, cart page and order page
- Displayed unit prices should reflect price reductions, such as when discounts are applied either through Shopify Scripts or automatic discounts
- This also applies to ajax cart
Instructions
Initial rollout is planned only for France and Germany.
- 3 conditions are necessary in order to use the new feature:
- Set your shop address in of these countries:

- Germany: Leipziger Pl. 17, 10117 Berlin, Germany
- Have your point of contact enable the beta flag for your test shop.
You will then be able to see a new checkbox on your product variant page as shown below:
